Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a heartfelt Farewell Programme to honor Dr. Jasna P. Varjian on her relieving from the position of Principal and her transition to the role of Lecturer in Life Sciences at DIET, a Government institution.

The programme continued with Words of Blessings by Msgr. Wilson Erathara, Manager, JTC Mala, whose message inspired confidence and hope for the future. Felicitations were offered by Ms. Sandra S., Assistant Professor, and Ms. Mariya Jessniya, General Secretary, acknowledging achievements and contributions with appreciation.

A major highlight of the program was an informative talk by NYCY MOL, a Maths Club member. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a One-Day Workshop on Smart Digital Content Creation in the AI Era on 18 December 2025, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with the objective of equipping future educators with emerging digital competencies required in modern classrooms.

The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Gopikrishnan K. V., Research Scholar, IASE Thrissur, who conducted engaging sessions on the effective use of artificial intelligence in educational content creation. The workshop introduced participants to various AI-powered tools and digital platforms that can be used to design innovative learning materials, presentations, assessments, videos, and interactive classroom resources.

Through demonstrations and practical activities, participants explored techniques for creating engaging digital content while maintaining academic integrity and ethical use of AI. The sessions emphasized the importance of integrating technology with pedagogy to enhance teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and personalized learning experiences.

S., II Year Social Science student, who demonstrated the step-by-step process of designing and preparing attractive paper files using simple and easily available materials. Jesus Training College, Mala, Thrissur organized a One Day National Seminar on “Transforming Teacher Education: Policy, Practice and Sustainable Development” on 12/12/2025 at the College Auditorium. The seminar focused on current reforms and sustainable approaches in teacher education. 

The programme began with a prayer by the College Choir, followed by a Welcome Address by Dr. Jasna P Varijan, Principal, JTC, Mala. The Presidential Address was delivered by Msgr. Wilson Erathara, Manager, JTC, Mala, highlighting the crucial role of teachers in nation-building.

The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Amruth G Kumar, Professor, Department of Education, Central University of Kerala, who emphasized the need to align educational policy with classroom practice and sustainability goals. An Orientation Programme on K-TET and SET Examination Preparation was organized by the Placement Cell on 06 December 2025 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. at the College Auditorium, Jesus Training College, Mala. The session was led by Ms. Sneha Menon P., who provided student teachers with a comprehensive overview of the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) and the State Eligibility Test (SET). The orientation covered the eligibility criteria, examination pattern, categories of K-TET I and K-TET II, syllabus, marking scheme, and the significance of these examinations for aspiring teachers.

The resource person also explained effective preparation strategies for the General Paper of the SET examination, including time management techniques, subject-wise study plans, methods for answering objective-type questions, and the importance of regular practice through previous years' question papers and mock tests. The interactive session enhanced students' awareness of teaching eligibility examinations and equipped them with practical strategies and confidence to prepare effectively for future teaching careers. The programme concluded with a question-and-answer session, where students clarified their doubts regarding examination procedures and preparation methods.

The observance was conducted under the global theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response."

The programme focused on creating awareness about HIV transmission, prevention, early diagnosis, and the importance of eliminating stigma and discrimination associated with the disease. The Jesus Training College, Mala, affiliated with the University of Calicut and recognized by NCTE, successfully organized a Two-Day Workshop on "Understanding the Self" on 27th and 28th November 2025 at the College Auditorium. The workshop was designed to help prospective teachers develop self-awareness, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and professional identity through a series of expert-led interactive sessions.

The programme commenced on 27th November 2025 with an inspiring session by Ms. Reo July Jipsa, Assistant Professor, Jesus Training College, Mala, on "Critically Evaluate Oneself as a Prospective Teacher." She encouraged student teachers to reflect upon their personal beliefs, teaching philosophies, strengths, and areas for improvement. The session emphasized that effective teaching begins with self-reflection and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development. Through discussions and reflective activities, participants gained deeper insights into the qualities and responsibilities of an ideal educator.

The second session of the day was conducted by Mr. Faimen Paul, Assistant Professor, Jesus Training College, Mala, on the topic "Acting In, Acting Out: Theatre as a Tool for Self-Awareness and Connection." The workshop introduced theatre-based activities as powerful pedagogical tools for enhancing communication, empathy, creativity, and emotional expression. Participants critically explored gender stereotypes, unconscious biases, and the importance of promoting equality and inclusiveness in educational settings. Constitution Day – Honouring the Values of Indian Democracy

The Social Science Club of Jesus Training College, Mala, observed Constitution Day on 26 November in the Assembly Hall to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to promote constitutional values among students.

The programme featured a thought-provoking talk by Ms. Lakshmi K. J., II Year Social Science, who served as the speaker for the occasion. As part of its continuous commitment to quality enhancement and institutional excellence, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jesus Training College, Mala, organized an ISO Internal Audit on 19 November 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Hall.

The audit was conducted by Ms. Sheena Bhaskar, Vice Principal, IQAC, ISO and NAAC Coordinator of the college. The programme was organized to evaluate the effectiveness of the institution's quality management system and ensure that academic and administrative processes align with ISO standards and institutional quality objectives.

During the audit, various departments presented their documentation, records, and best practices related to academic activities, administration, student support services, and institutional governance. The audit process provided an opportunity to review existing procedures, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen the culture of quality within the institution.

Ms. Sheena Bhaskar emphasized the importance of maintaining systematic documentation, continuous monitoring, and collaborative efforts in achieving excellence. On 24th October 2025, the Social Science Club "AGORA" of Jesus Training College, Mala organized a meaningful celebration of United Nations Day, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations under the theme "80 Years of Global Unity." The programme was held at 9:20 a.m. in the Assembly Hall, bringing together students and faculty to reflect on the ideals of peace, cooperation, human rights, and sustainable development.

The event aimed to create awareness among future educators about the significance of the United Nations in promoting international peace, fostering global partnerships, and addressing pressing global challenges. The celebration emphasized the importance of unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in building a peaceful and sustainable world.

The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Ann Mariya Paul P., a First Year Social Science student, who served as the resource person for the programme. Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a Four-Day Community Living Camp from 27 to 30 August 2025 as part of its teacher education programme. Throughout the four-day programme, students actively participated in a variety of activities including group discussions, community service, cultural programmes, team-building games, and reflective sessions.
