United Nations Day Celebration 2025: Celebrating 80 Years of Global Unity

On 24th October 2025, the Social Science Club "AGORA" of Jesus Training College, Mala organized a meaningful celebration of United Nations Day, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations under the theme "80 Years of Global Unity." The programme was held at 9:20 a.m. in the Assembly Hall, bringing together students and faculty to reflect on the ideals of peace, cooperation, human rights, and sustainable development.

The event aimed to create awareness among future educators about the significance of the United Nations in promoting international peace, fostering global partnerships, and addressing pressing global challenges. The celebration emphasized the importance of unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in building a peaceful and sustainable world.

The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Ann Mariya Paul P., a First Year Social Science student, who served as the resource person for the programme. Her presentation highlighted the historical journey of the United Nations over the past eight decades, its achievements in maintaining global peace, humanitarian efforts, promotion of education and health, and its role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also encouraged the audience to recognize their role as responsible global citizens capable of contributing to positive social change.

Students actively participated in the session, making it an engaging and thought-provoking learning experience. The programme inspired the audience to appreciate the value of international cooperation and reinforced the need to uphold the principles of equality, justice, and human dignity in today's interconnected world.

The United Nations Day celebration concluded on a note of optimism and commitment, reminding everyone that global peace and sustainable development can only be achieved through collective action and shared responsibility. The programme successfully reflected the vision of the AGORA Social Science Club in nurturing socially conscious and globally responsible future educators.
