Strategic Planning for the Academic Year 2026–2027: Building a Roadmap for Excellence

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a Faculty Development Programme on "Strategic Planning for the Academic Year 2026–2027" on 27 June 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM in the IQAC Room. The programme was conducted to equip faculty members with effective planning strategies for achieving academic excellence and institutional growth.

The session was led by Prof. Harry Cleteus, Former Principal of St. Albert's College, Ernakulam, who served as the resource person. Drawing upon his extensive experience in higher education administration, he shared valuable insights into strategic planning, institutional leadership, and quality enhancement practices.

The programme focused on developing a comprehensive roadmap for the academic year by aligning institutional goals with teaching, research, extension activities, student support services, and quality assurance initiatives. Faculty members actively participated in discussions on academic planning, outcome-based education, innovative teaching methodologies, research promotion, and continuous evaluation.

Interactive sessions encouraged collaborative thinking and enabled participants to formulate practical strategies for enhancing student learning experiences and achieving institutional objectives. Prof. Harry Cleteus emphasized that strategic planning is a continuous process requiring teamwork, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence.

World Reading Day Spot Quiz Competition – Inspiring a Culture of Reading

The Literary Club of Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a Spot Quiz Competition in connection with World Reading Day on 22 June 2026 in the Assembly Hall. The programme aimed to promote reading habits among students and to celebrate the transformative power of books and literature.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with two students representing each optional subject. The quiz featured a wide range of general questions related to Reading Day, renowned authors, literary works, libraries, reading movements, and the importance of cultivating a lifelong reading habit.

Participants demonstrated impressive knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork as they competed in an atmosphere of healthy academic competition. The event encouraged students to broaden their reading interests and appreciate literature as a source of knowledge, creativity, and personal growth.

The programme also highlighted the significance of reading in developing critical thinking, communication skills, imagination, and lifelong learning—qualities that are especially important for future educators. Students were inspired to make reading an integral part of their academic and personal lives.

The World Reading Day Spot Quiz Competition concluded with the appreciation of all participants for their enthusiasm and intellectual spirit. The event successfully reinforced the Literary Club's mission of fostering a vibrant reading culture and nurturing informed, thoughtful, and lifelong learners within the college community.

Fostering Fellowship: Jesus Training College Mala Launches "Community Living Camp"

There is something deeply transformative about coming together as a community to share space, ideas, and experiences. At Jesus Training College Mala (located in Thrissur, Kerala), that spirit of togetherness is being put into action! The prestigious institution—NAAC Accredited with B++, ISO certified, and holding the 22nd Rank in KIRF—is proudly hosting its Community Living Camp.
The 4-day camp is scheduled to take place from June 04 to June 07, 2026, promising an enriching experience centred around collaboration, leadership, and shared responsibility.

The grand Inaugural Programme kicked off the festivities on June 4th at 1:30 PM in the lively atmosphere of the College Auditorium. Here is a look at how the community came together to celebrate this special beginning.

Highlights of the Inaugural Ceremony
The event featured a beautifully structured itinerary that seamlessly blended tradition, official addresses, and student-led initiatives:
 
A Solemn Beginning: The program commenced with a peaceful **Prayer** led by Sreelakshmi, setting a serene and focused tone for the days ahead

 Warm Welcomes & Tradition: Faimen Paul (Staff Camp Coordinator, JTC Mala) delivered the Welcome Speech, which was swiftly followed by the traditional Lighting of the Lamp by Chief Guest Ms Jayashree Sudheesh, a respected Ward Member of the Grama Panchayat, Mala
.
 Setting the Vision:  Student Camp Coordinator Nevis Augustin took the stage for the Camp Theme Introduction, outlining the core values and objectives of this 4-day journey.

 Leadership Insights: The ceremony was elevated by a Presidential Address from Rev. Fr. Vineesh V Vattoly (Executive Director, JTC Mala) and an Inaugural Address by Ms. Jayashree Sudheesh. Dr. Rages John (Principal, JTC Mala) followed with an inspiring Principal Address to motivate the campers.
Commitment to the Community: Camp Leader Ripsy Rojas led the students in a meaningful Camp Pledge, locking in their commitment to camaraderie and personal growth.

Gratitude After a vibrant Cultural Touch performance, Camp Leader Lidhiya Krishna MD concluded the formal event with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks.
