FAREWELL EVENT AND BELLORA - CHIRSTMAS CELEBRATION




Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a heartfelt Farewell Programme to honor Dr. Jasna P. Varjian on her relieving from the position of Principal and her transition to the role of Lecturer in Life Sciences at DIET, a Government institution.

The programme was a meaningful occasion that reflected the deep respect and gratitude the institution holds for Dr. Jasna P. Varjian’s dedicated service. During her tenure as Principal, she provided strong academic leadership, upheld institutional values, and contributed significantly to the growth and development of the college.

A highlight of the celebration was the Cake Cutting with Santa Claus, which brought cheer and festive joy to the audience. The Carol Song further enriched the atmosphere, filling the hall with warmth and celebration.

The programme continued with Words of Blessings by Msgr. Wilson Erathara, Manager, JTC Mala, whose message inspired confidence and hope for the future. Felicitations were offered by Ms. Sandra S., Assistant Professor, and Ms. Mariya Jessniya, General Secretary, acknowledging achievements and contributions with appreciation.

The Reply Address by Dr. Jasna P. Varjian, Principal, reflected gratitude, pride, and encouragement, reinforcing the bond between the institution and its students.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Sreelakshmi K. Suresh, Chairperson (2024–2025), who expressed sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the programme.

As part of the Christmas celebration “Bellora,” a Christmas Gift Exchange was organized at Jesus Training College, Mala. The activity created an atmosphere of excitement and joy, encouraging interaction and bonding among students and faculty members. The exchange reflected the spirit of sharing and goodwill that defines the Christmas season.

Jesus Training College, Mala commemorated the National Day of Mathematics on 22nd December 2025. The program, organized by the Math Club, was held at the Assembly Hall at 1:30 pm with active participation from students and faculty members.

The celebration was conducted in honour of the legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose remarkable contributions have left a lasting impact on the field of mathematics. The event aimed to inspire students by highlighting the significance of mathematical thinking and innovation.

A major highlight of the program was an informative talk by NYCY MOL, a Maths Club member. In her talk, she spoke in detail about the life, achievements, and mathematical genius of Srinivasa Ramanujan. She emphasized his journey, dedication, and the global recognition of his work despite numerous challenges. The talk motivated students to appreciate perseverance, creativity, and passion in academic pursuits.

One-Day Workshop on Smart Digital Content Creation in the AI Era



The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jesus Training College, Mala, organized a One-Day Workshop on Smart Digital Content Creation in the AI Era on 18 December 2025, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with the objective of equipping future educators with emerging digital competencies required in modern classrooms.

The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Gopikrishnan K. V., Research Scholar, IASE Thrissur, who conducted engaging sessions on the effective use of artificial intelligence in educational content creation. The workshop introduced participants to various AI-powered tools and digital platforms that can be used to design innovative learning materials, presentations, assessments, videos, and interactive classroom resources.

Through demonstrations and practical activities, participants explored techniques for creating engaging digital content while maintaining academic integrity and ethical use of AI. The sessions emphasized the importance of integrating technology with pedagogy to enhance teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and personalized learning experiences.

The workshop also highlighted the opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence in education. Participants gained valuable insights into responsible AI usage, digital literacy, copyright awareness, and best practices for creating high-quality educational resources.

The programme was highly interactive, allowing participants to experiment with modern digital tools and develop practical skills that can be effectively applied in future teaching careers. The SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work) Club of Jesus Training College, Mala organized a Workshop on Paper File Making on 15th December 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Assembly Hall. The workshop aimed to promote creativity, practical skills, and the efficient use of eco-friendly materials among student teachers.

The session was led by Ms. Chandana K. S., II Year Social Science student, who demonstrated the step-by-step process of designing and preparing attractive paper files using simple and easily available materials. Participants learned techniques for folding, assembling, decorating, and finishing durable paper files suitable for academic and professional purposes.

The workshop encouraged students to explore innovative craft techniques while emphasizing sustainability and resource conservation. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the hands-on activity and produced creative paper files, enhancing their artistic skills and confidence.

The programme successfully combined creativity with environmental responsibility, highlighting how simple handmade products can serve both functional and educational purposes.

Fine Arts 2025 Name Revealing Ceremony – Unveiling a New Identity



The College Union of Jesus Training College, Mala, under the banner of Anmahera Union, organized the Fine Arts 2025 Name Revealing Ceremony on 15 December 2025 at 9:15 AM in the Assembly Hall. The event marked the official announcement of the theme and identity for the college's Fine Arts Festival, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated cultural celebrations of the academic year.

The ceremony was conducted with great enthusiasm, bringing together students, faculty members, and the College Union. The official name of Fine Arts 2025 was unveiled amidst much excitement, symbolizing the beginning of a vibrant season of creativity, artistic expression, and healthy competition. The announcement generated immense curiosity and enthusiasm among students, who eagerly looked forward to participating in the upcoming fine arts events.

The programme was enriched with cultural performances that reflected Kerala's rich artistic heritage. Traditional dance performances, melodious musical presentations, and other artistic expressions created a festive atmosphere, celebrating the diverse talents of the student community. The workshop was conducted to create awareness about sustainable alternatives to plastic bags while developing practical and entrepreneurial skills among student teachers.

The resource person, Ms. Reshma, II Year English student, demonstrated the preparation of reusable paper bags using eco-friendly materials. She explained various methods of cutting, folding, assembling, and decorating paper bags, enabling participants to create attractive and durable products suitable for everyday use.

Students actively participated in the practical session, gaining hands-on experience while understanding the environmental importance of reducing plastic consumption. The workshop also highlighted the potential of paper bag making as a small-scale entrepreneurial venture that supports sustainable living.

The programme concluded with participants showcasing their handmade paper bags and reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation. One Day National Seminar on Transforming Teacher Education




Jesus Training College, Mala, Thrissur organized a One Day National Seminar on “Transforming Teacher Education: Policy, Practice and Sustainable Development” on 12/12/2025 at the College Auditorium. The seminar focused on current reforms and sustainable approaches in teacher education. 

The programme began with a prayer by the College Choir, followed by a Welcome Address by Dr. Jasna P Varijan, Principal, JTC, Mala. The Presidential Address was delivered by Msgr. Wilson Erathara, Manager, JTC, Mala, highlighting the crucial role of teachers in nation-building.

The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Amruth G Kumar, Professor, Department of Education, Central University of Kerala, who emphasized the need to align educational policy with classroom practice and sustainability goals. Rev. Fr. Vinish V Vattoly, Executive Director, JTC, Mala, offered felicitations appreciating the academic initiative.

The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Anushamol M S, Assistant Professor, JTC, Mala. The seminar provided a valuable platform for academic reflection and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to quality teacher education.

The Keynote Address by Dr. Renjisha R, Principal, CFI College of Teacher Education, Poyya, addressed significant dimensions of teacher education reform. The emphasis on aligning policy with classroom realities was timely. 

Teachers and students actively participated by presenting research papers, and the Best Paper Award was presented in recognition of outstanding scholarly contributions.

The Electoral Literacy Club of Jesus Training College, Mala organized an informative awareness programme titled "Kerala Vote 2025 – My Right, My Voice: Democracy Begins with You" on 9th December 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. The programme aimed to promote electoral awareness among student teachers and reinforce the importance of active participation in the democratic process.

The resource person, Ms. Arsha K. R., Social Science student, delivered an engaging session on the significance of voting as both a constitutional right and a civic responsibility. She highlighted the importance of informed voting, ethical participation in elections, and the role of citizens in strengthening democratic values. The session also addressed issues such as voter awareness, electoral ethics, and the need to combat misinformation during elections.

Students actively participated in the discussion, sharing their perspectives on democracy and responsible citizenship. The programme inspired participants to recognize that every vote has the power to shape the future of society and encouraged them to become informed, responsible, and active citizens.

Orientation Programme on K-TET and SET Examination Preparation



An Orientation Programme on K-TET and SET Examination Preparation was organized by the Placement Cell on 06 December 2025 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. at the College Auditorium, Jesus Training College, Mala. The session was led by Ms. Sneha Menon P., who provided student teachers with a comprehensive overview of the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) and the State Eligibility Test (SET). The orientation covered the eligibility criteria, examination pattern, categories of K-TET I and K-TET II, syllabus, marking scheme, and the significance of these examinations for aspiring teachers.

The resource person also explained effective preparation strategies for the General Paper of the SET examination, including time management techniques, subject-wise study plans, methods for answering objective-type questions, and the importance of regular practice through previous years' question papers and mock tests. The interactive session enhanced students' awareness of teaching eligibility examinations and equipped them with practical strategies and confidence to prepare effectively for future teaching careers. The programme concluded with a question-and-answer session, where students clarified their doubts regarding examination procedures and preparation methods.

World AIDS Day 2025: Promoting Awareness, Compassion and Responsibility

On the occasion of World AIDS Day, observed on 1 December 2025, Jesus Training College, Mala organized an awareness programme to educate students about HIV/AIDS, promote compassion towards people living with HIV, and encourage responsible health practices. The observance was conducted under the global theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response."

The programme focused on creating awareness about HIV transmission, prevention, early diagnosis, and the importance of eliminating stigma and discrimination associated with the disease. Participants were encouraged to understand the significance of community support, empathy, and inclusive healthcare in improving the quality of life of people affected by HIV/AIDS.

Faculty members highlighted the importance of accurate information, responsible behaviour, and collective efforts in preventing the spread of HIV. The programme also emphasized that awareness and education remain the most effective tools in combating misconceptions and promoting public health.
