Constitution Day – Honouring the Values of Indian Democracy
The Social Science Club of Jesus Training College, Mala, observed Constitution Day on 26 November in the Assembly Hall to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to promote constitutional values among students.
The programme featured a thought-provoking talk by Ms. Lakshmi K. J., II Year Social Science, who served as the speaker for the occasion. She explained the significance of the Constitution as the supreme law of the country and emphasized the fundamental rights, duties, democratic principles, equality, justice, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in it.
The session encouraged students to understand their responsibilities as informed citizens and inspired them to uphold constitutional values in their daily lives. The interactive nature of the programme allowed participants to reflect on the importance of democracy, rule of law, and responsible citizenship.
The Constitution Day celebration concluded with renewed commitment among students to respect and protect the ideals that form the foundation of the Indian Republic. The programme served as an enriching educational experience and reinforced the role of young citizens in building a just, inclusive, and democratic society.
