INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICT TRAFFICKING

 ANTI DRUG DAY

Anti-Drug Day Awareness Programme at Local School
Organized by Jesus Training College, Mala – June 26, 2025

As part of the observance of Anti-Drug Day on June 26, 2025, students of Jesus Training College, Mala, under the guidance of the Vimukthi Club and IQAC, visited a local school to conduct an awareness programme aimed at sensitizing young minds about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The initiative was aligned with the global theme "Breaking the Chains: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery for All," and aimed at promoting a drug-free lifestyle among school children. The event began with a formal welcome by the school authorities, followed by a brief introduction by the college team on the purpose of the visit.

The programme included:

  • Interactive sessions with students highlighting the physical, emotional, and social consequences of drug use.

  • Visual presentations and skits performed by the B.Ed. trainees, creatively conveying the importance of making healthy life choices.

  • A "Say No to Drugs" pledge, where students promised to stay away from substance abuse.

  • A poster exhibition and quiz competition to reinforce the anti-drug message in an engaging and educational manner.

The sessions were informative, empathetic, and age-appropriate, ensuring that the students not only understood the dangers of drug abuse but also felt empowered to make positive decisions.

The school authorities appreciated the efforts of Jesus Training College students for their commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of awareness materials to the participants.

This outreach activity served as a reminder of the powerful role that educational institutions and youth can play in building a healthier, drug-free society.
