Jesus Training College, Mala, known for its commitment to academic excellence (Accredited with NAAC B++, ISO certified, and ranked 24th in KIRF), is set to welcome the new academic year with its Student Induction Program 2025 – “ORIENTIM 25”. Scheduled for 8th August 2025 at the Assembly Hall, this event promises an enriching start for the incoming students.

The day will unfold with three engaging sessions designed to inspire, guide, and prepare students for their academic journey:

🔹 Session 1 (9:30 am – 12:15 pm)"Prioritize like a Pro: Unlocking Task Management Success" by Mr. Faïmen Paul, Assistant Professor, focusing on mastering the art of prioritization and effective task management.

🔹 Session 2 (1:00 pm – 2:30 pm)"Routes of JTC" by Fr. Vinish Vattoly, Executive Director, offering students valuable insights into the institution’s ethos, opportunities, and pathways to success.

🔹 Session 3 (2:40 pm – 3:45 pm)'ബോധനം മാനവം' by Mr. Sureshkumar P K, Assistant Professor, reflecting on the deeper values and human aspects of education.

With a blend of practical skill-building, institutional orientation, and value-based learning, ORIENTIM 25 is set to ensure that every student begins their journey at JTC with clarity, confidence, and a sense of purpose.

With the theme “Reprogram Your Mind”, the event will feature Dr. V.C. Binoj, Assistant Professor, MOTC, Perumpilavu, Thrissur, as the resource person. This inspiring session aims to prepare the new batch for academic and personal growth through fresh perspectives and positive thinking.

Jesus Training College, Mala, affiliated with the University of Calicut, conducted a General Orientation Program for first-year B.Ed. students on 25th July 2025 at 10:00 AM in the College General Hall.

The session was hosted by Ms. Rekha A Nair (Assistant Professor, Natural Science Education) and Ms. Sheena Bhaskar (Assistant Professor, Physical Science Education).

The orientation introduced students to the course structure, university regulations, college facilities, and the values of the teaching profession. The hosts welcomed the new batch and offered insightful guidance to help students begin their academic journey with confidence and clarity.

 Farewell Programme for Seniors – A Heartfelt Send-Off

On July 19, 2025, the students of Jesus Training College, Mala came together to bid a warm and emotional farewell to their beloved seniors. Though an unofficial programme, the event was thoughtfully organized by the junior batch as a token of love, gratitude, and celebration.

The programme, titled “അപ്പോ എല്ലാം പറഞ്ഞ് പോവലേ...” (Let’s say it all before we part), beautifully captured the spirit of farewell — a mix of joy, memories, and heartfelt goodbyes.


Highlights of the Programme:

  • The event began with a solemn prayer, setting a reflective tone for the evening.

  • Ms. Shary C.S., Union Secretary, delivered the Welcome Speech, warmly greeting the seniors and guests.

  • The Principal’s Address by Dr. Jasna P Varijan and the Presidential Address by Fr. Vineesh Vattoly, Associate Executive Director, offered words of appreciation and encouragement to the outgoing students.

The celebration continued with a vibrant lineup of cultural performances:

  • Dance performances and songs brought energy and excitement to the stage.

  • Video presentations offered a nostalgic look back at the shared moments and milestones.

  • Seniors took the stage to share their experiences, expressing heartfelt gratitude and reliving cherished memories.

The event concluded with a touching Vote of Thanks by Ms. Ancy Joby, Second Year Student Representative, acknowledging everyone who made the day special.

As the seniors step forward into the next chapter of life, they carry with them not just knowledge and experience, but also the love and support of their JTC family.

               One-Day Workshop on Achievement Test and Diagnostic Test


Jesus Training College, Mala, conducted a one-day workshop on Achievement Test and Diagnostic Test on June 11, 2025, exclusively for B.Ed. students following the Calicut University syllabus. The session was jointly hosted by Ms. Sneha Menon P and Ms. Reo July Jipsa, both Assistant Professors of General Education at the college.

The workshop aimed to equip future educators with essential skills in designing, administering, and interpreting achievement and diagnostic assessments—key tools for evaluating student learning and identifying areas of difficulty.

The sessions covered:

  • Concepts and purposes of achievement and diagnostic tests

  • Steps in test construction

  • Blueprint preparation and question framing

  • Techniques for error analysis and remediation

Students actively participated in hands-on sessions, discussions, and practice exercises, gaining practical insights into test development aligned with the B.Ed. curriculum.

This workshop enhanced the assessment literacy of teacher trainees, preparing them to implement effective evaluation strategies in real classroom settings.

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICT TRAFFICKING

Anti-Drug Day Awareness Programme at Local School
Organized by Jesus Training College, Mala – June 26, 2025

As part of the observance of Anti-Drug Day on June 26, 2025, students of Jesus Training College, Mala, under the guidance of the Vimukthi Club and IQAC, visited a local school to conduct an awareness programme aimed at sensitizing young minds about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The initiative was aligned with the global theme "Breaking the Chains: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery for All," and aimed at promoting a drug-free lifestyle among school children. The event began with a formal welcome by the school authorities, followed by a brief introduction by the college team on the purpose of the visit.

The programme included:

  • Interactive sessions with students highlighting the physical, emotional, and social consequences of drug use.

  • Visual presentations and skits performed by the B.Ed. trainees, creatively conveying the importance of making healthy life choices.

  • A "Say No to Drugs" pledge, where students promised to stay away from substance abuse.

  • A poster exhibition and quiz competition to reinforce the anti-drug message in an engaging and educational manner.

The sessions were informative, empathetic, and age-appropriate, ensuring that the students not only understood the dangers of drug abuse but also felt empowered to make positive decisions.

The school authorities appreciated the efforts of Jesus Training College students for their commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of awareness materials to the participants.

Centered around the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting holistic health and environmental harmony.

The session began at 9:30 AM, featuring guided yoga practices including breathing exercises, basic asanas, and relaxation techniques. Students and faculty actively participated, embracing the opportunity to reflect, rejuvenate, and reconnect through the practice of yoga.

A one-day workshop on Drama and Art in Education was held on 18th and 19th June 2025 at Jesus Training College, Mala, as part of the B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) curriculum. The workshop was led by Fr. Fijo Joseph Alappadan, Assistant Professor in Performing Arts at Navajyothi College of Teacher Education for Women, Olarikara. The event aimed to provide future educators with creative tools and strategies for integrating drama and art into classroom teaching, enriching both their pedagogical approaches and student engagement.


Objectives of the Workshop:

  • To understand the educational value of art and drama.

  • To explore innovative teaching techniques that utilize creative expression.

  • To foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

  • To provide interactive, hands-on experiences in drama and visual art.

  • To inspire a lasting interest and confidence in using the arts within education.

The event was a resounding success, offering participants a unique opportunity for introspection, exploration, and personal growth.

The workshop aimed to foster self-awareness and personal development through a series of engaging sessions and interactive activities. Participants were guided through thought-provoking exercises that helped them reflect on their identities, aspirations, and the various influences that shape their sense of self.
