The celebration took place in the Assembly Hall at 9:20am under the Mathematics Club coordinator Ms.Lisa John.

National Mathematics Day is celebrated annually on December 22, marking the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose extraordinary contributions to mathematics continue to inspire mathematicians worldwide. This year, the theme for the celebration was "Ramanujan: The Genius Who Revolutionized Mathematics."

The event commenced with an insightful talk by Aswathy, student coordinator of Mathematics club, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the life and achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan. Aswathy shared how Ramanujan, with little formal training, made ground breaking contributions to number theory, continued fractions, and infinite series. Her presentation emphasized Ramanujan's journey from humble beginnings in colonial India to his ground breaking work at Cambridge University, where he collaborated with famous mathematician G.H. Hardy. Aswathy’s talk served as a tribute to Ramanujan’s genius and the lasting impact he has had on modern mathematics.

The event included the short video presentation of Srinivasa Ramanujan, and thereby after quiz related to Srinivasa Ramanujan. Dr. Jasna P. Varijan delivered the opening speech, underscoring the importance of mathematics in shaping various fields, from engineering and technology to economics and medicine. Her words resonated with the audience, inspiring students to engage with mathematics in creative and meaningful ways.
